Aspire’s #BetterForUs campaign has responded to the UK Government’s green paper on transforming procurement. While it wholeheartedly welcomes the commitment to embrace the public good or public value as a principle of public change, it points to the constraints on the UK Government to change procurement law which is a devolved matter. Aspire urges the UK Government to build upon best practice and to use the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as the golden thread that binds procurement within the UK, an approach spearheaded by the Scottish and Welsh Governments.
